A clear financial record for every committee.
Connect collections, cash handovers, vouchers, funds and reporting in double-entry books with configured checks.
Each committee keeps balanced accounts with controlled posting and visible reversals. Permissions, approval steps, periods and fund rules govern financial actions; explicit solo exceptions remain traceable.
The details that keep work moving
A ledger for each committee
Every entry balances and cannot be edited, only reversed. Start from opening balances and a chart of accounts from a template. Parent committees get consolidated reports with inter-committee amounts eliminated.
Vouchers
Payment, receipt, contra, journal, opening and reversal vouchers, each with its own numbering series. An attachment can be required above an amount, a journal needs a narration, and signature lines print on the voucher.
A second person approves
There are 42 kinds of approval, from expenses, vouchers and reversals to budgets, period unlocks, year close, claim payments, committee transfers, Kuri payouts, refunds and exchange-rate changes. By default the maker does not approve their own item (only small-team mode, which flags each such approval, changes that), and limits are set for each role.
Funds and restricted funds
Keep separate funds such as Relief, Zakat, Building or a scheme fund. A restricted fund is enforced when a voucher is posted, so money meant for one purpose is not spent on another.
Banking and reconciliation
Manage cheque books and leaves, import a bank statement from CSV, match lines automatically or by hand, and run a reconciliation report. Transfers in transit raise an alert.
Budgets and year end
Budget by account, fund or program, with phasing, versions and an optional hard stop, and see budget against actual. Lock a period and unlock it only with approval. Close the year with a preview and carry fund surpluses forward.
Expense claims
Claim expenses with bill photos, give advances and settle them, and set up recurring templates. Choose cash or accrual basis, with the date the choice applies from.
Fixed assets and depreciation
Keep an asset register and depreciate by the straight-line or written-down-value method. A depreciation run needs approval, and a disposal shows the exact gain or loss first. Scheduled runs are optional, and a year-end check warns if depreciation is missing.
Transfers between committees
Move money between committees with a report on any mismatch. Scheme and Kuri money is handled as trust funds, apart from the committee’s own.
Make it work your way
Choose the rules your organisation needs. Committee permissions and inherited controls still apply.
- The month your financial year starts.
- The opening date of your books, and the date before which periods are locked.
- The amount each role may approve.
- The amount above which a voucher needs an attachment.
- Whether a journal needs a written reason.
- Whether a budget is a hard stop, and how a budget is phased across the year.
- How many days before a cheque is treated as stale.
- How many days apart a bank line and a book entry may be and still match.
- The amount below which a purchase is an expense, not an asset, and the depreciation method and frequency.
- Whether depreciation runs by itself on a schedule.
- How many days a volunteer has to settle an advance, and how many days a transfer may stay in transit before an alert.
- Whether an expense needs a category, and whether people see only the money accounts assigned to them.
